Fees paid go towards all of the things required to run a non-profit organization. Since BYSA owns and operates the Optimist Park, fees help cover operating costs and maintaining the infrastructure. All BYSA soccer players are registered with the Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) which in turn is affiliated with the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) and Fédération Internationale de Football Association. To be associated with the MSA, CSA and FIFA, each player must be covered by insurance which the fee covers. Each player also gets a jersey and wind up snack/meal such as a hot dog lunch or timbits depending on sponsorship.
BYSA is eligible for Kidsport Funding.
Equipment
Players should wear shin guards and socks. Cleats are optional.
Location
Games are played at the Optimist Soccer Park. Here is a map:
Recreational Soccer - Indoor
During a normal indoor soccer season, all games are played at the Keystone Indoor facility. However, during the 2013-14 season, the Keystone facility needed repairs to the roof requiring the BYSA to use alternate venues which in turn changed the fee and registration levels. Once the roof is repaired, the BYSA will have a better idea of fee levels, age groupings etc so please check back in September 2014 for more information.
