WHAT

In order to become a ham operator in Canada, you need to write a free amateur radio exam administered by Industry Canada. Once you pass the exam, Industry Canada asigns you a call sign and gives you a license. Amateur radio operators broadcast for fun or public service only -- amateur radio cannot broadcast for money!!
